We’re thrilled to share some exciting news! Our very own Jr. Sous Chef, Josh Karbelnik is all set to heat up the kitchen on Chopped Canada on the Food Network! Watch the complete episode online.
Josh brought his well-honed fine dining background and experience to our Truffles team having moved across the country from Toronto. He spent several years studying at Niagara College prior to working at North 44 under the culinary tutelage of Sash Simpson and Mark McEwen (of Top Chef).
Next up: Josh shifted to Zest Restaurant in the heart of Niagara and begun training under David Watt until a tragic accident cost him two of his fingers.
Not to be detered by this setback, it was his true passion for the culinary world that drove Josh to continue to pursue his career and he begun to retrain with the help of Bocuse competitor, Scott Jager of Pear Tree Restaurant in Burnaby.
Josh continued to perfect his own style of cooking and favors one that is a blend of modern classic Canadian cuisine.
